Stay alive

Hi all Is it possible to fit a stay alive to a Digitrax DZ126T decoder? It is to keep power to an electro magnet for a container crane I have built. When transversing it seems to lose power and wonder if this would be an option? I’m using the forward lighting function 500mA. Kind regards Iain Mod No...

Electromagnets and DCC?

Hi all

I am trying another form of pick up spreader for another container crane and would like to go down the same route as Heljan using an electromagnet.

The question is, can I use a DCC decoder function to operate for on/off? I know I’ll need a good bit of power but unsure where to go next?

Re: Container spreader idea

Just found this on YouTube. I just need to work out how to set up the motor i.e use a bevel gear system to run the driveshafts?

Container spreader idea

hi Hopefully I have used the correct forum for my question. I am currently modifying a Kibri container crane so that it will be fully motorised. I would like to use a spreader model to grab and pick up the container but unsure what is the best procedure for using gears etc. Anyone have any good idea...

Many thanks for the replies. You have set the ball rolling and hopefully we can get something working. Hopefully I will be able to share my project in due course.

Re: Decoder function - micromotor

Thank you for your reply. My thought exactly on one function output not able to reverse polarity (I will need to read up and study on this). The relay idea I will try out as there is limited space in the project I'm carrying out.

Many thanks

Decoder function - micromotor

Hi all

I am currently experimenting with micro motors for a project. Can I use a decoder function to run a micro motor, for example, to open and close a grab?

Many thanks

Re: Dapol Semaphore Signals - LS150 latching

Hi Suzie Many thanks for getting back to me, I think you may have helped Karl on the JMRI user website thing. You have confirmed what I have suspected and can now put the others questioning to rest. We are off to Glasgow on Thursday so hopefully be able to pick up and SC1 and DP8 and get this wired ...

Dapol Semaphore Signals - LS150 latching

Hi all I understand this question has been asked many times but I can find no other information on the small problem for our club layout. We have 8 Dapol Semaphore signals that we have managed to work through DCC using a Lenz LS150 accessory decoder, and one of our members has built circuit (can't r...

Air brush kits

Hi all Hopefully I have posted in the correct area!!! I have started the wonderful (if sometimes hard) world of weathering. Lenz set 100 problem

Hi I writing this on behalf of a club member. He recently bought a brand new out of the box set 100 and has blown 4 decoders, one which caught fire. I have checked connections as to my set, checked voltage but don't understand. He was using Hattons chips from a bundle and blown a hornby chip. I have...
