Re: Repairing a Hornby Elite DCC Controller

I'd try to work out which one goes where, the memory effect of the insulation often tries to move the wire to the right place. There may be a brave soul who will open one up to tell you which goes where, the danger being that they may tend to come off whenever one is opened. I can think of many dev...

Repairing a Hornby Elite DCC Controller

Hi, I've recently purchased a non-working Hornby Elite from eBay as a bit of a "pass the time away" project. The seller said it just stopped working one day. I've been doing some fault finding and inspecting and the first thing i've come across is a couple of the wires from both rotating s...

Re: Any one used one of these??

Is there any documentation to help me find the components and how to link them altogether?

Does it allow reading and writing of the DCC values as well as control?

Re: Any one used one of these??

Thanks all for your responses. I must admit that the thought of "building" my own DCC controller does appeal to me but I don't want to spend weeks trying to figure it out and then it not work. I will keep researching I think and see what I come up with. Any further thoughts are more than w...

Any one used one of these??

I found this while browsing eBay for a new DCC controller, has anyone built one or used one? Some of the instructions left me a little confused but if works as well as it suggests then it's a cheap alternative. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F332313...

Re: Seep PM1 Point Motors with constantly lit LED's

I discovered this last night while browsing Youtube, it does exactly as we have discussed in this thread. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLOCKsignalling-PPI4-Points-Position-Indicator-PPI-RED-GREEN-LED-Points-Motor/160983721408?hash=item257b60a5c0:g:Zl8AAOSwWnFWAqX6 And this excellent Youtube video to go...

Re: Seep PM1 Point Motors with constantly lit LED's

Thanks, that really helps a lot but it also confuses me slightly. The diagrams I have seen up to now all say that contact 'F' on the PM1 is for frog polarity but in your diagram, it does not mention the frog. Also, 'D' and 'E' are for rails but again yours shows just LED's, can I incorporate both th...

Seep PM1 Point Motors with constantly lit LED's

Can anyone point me in the direction of a diagram that shows me how I would light an LED to indicate point position on a control panel when using the Seep PM1? The only way I can find online shows the LED lit momentarily as the point is thrown and then goes off once the SPDT switch returns to centre...

Re: Goathland in 00

I would say that the bachmann scenecraft station building and the NER hornby coal drop and NER goods shed would be the best combination. I did a model of goathland some years ago now which I have now sold and the bachmann building wasn't available in the early 2000s so I scratch built the bits not ...

Goathland in 00

All, I have finally converted my shed into a train room, its 5 feet wide and 7 feet long so plenty of room for a layout. I have decided that on one side of the layout I am going to model Goathland station. Whitby has been a favourite holiday destination for many years, I proposed to my wife at the f...
