Re: The Great Model Railway Challenge

No channel 5 in Ireland but I can just about get the box to give me Channel.5+1 with no ability t o record. I don t finish work til after nine, missed.Ep1 and caught last 20mins of Ep2. As a fan of Jeff Wayne's musical adaptation of WotW I rather loved the moving tripods and the red weed.

Re: A permanent 00 layout at last?!

I've been working on ideas for a continuous run in 8 by 6 foot but using as thin as possible edges, the right hand side board can't be wider because of the door anyway, and I've got to leave an access/operating hole too. It features a double track mainline with raised area and an inside branch loop ...

Re: A permanent 00 layout at last?!

This is my plan, once we get settled into the new house I will need to acquire baseboards, but given that I have no persona transport and live 50miles from a timber merchant I think I'll have to save up for a bespoke baseboard :/

Re: The Lartique Monorail - Listowel, Co Kerry.

I must get out there one day and see it, and the old T&D line. I live beyond the end of the former Farranfore to Valentia harbour line but being limited to public transport I rarely leave the Iveragh Penninsula

Re: A permanent 00 layout at last?!

We collected the keys today and got to look around, I've started cleaning the kitchen and the garden as the rest of the rooms have nothing but bare concrete floors, once the kitchen is clean I can move some stuff already. That brings us to the railway room/Library. Entering through the door, which s...

Re: A permanent 00 layout at last?!

Go and see the house and go from there. No rush. Let the ideas and plans flow! Be aware there are certain rules in council houses, and I would avoid any permanent layout in the attic, as past people have had to dissmantle theirs for councils to put thicker insulation etc... so a semi portable layou...

Re: Requesting Help To Accurately Date WW.1 Era Carriages (G.E.R) Used As Homes

Ah here we are, found them: http://www.cs.rhrp.org.uk/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=5833 http://www.cs.rhrp.org.uk/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=5834 It doesn't give a date, but a look on the same database for other identical carriages gives a date range of 1880-1890. There's absolutely scores of similar about...

Re: Requesting Help To Accurately Date WW.1 Era Carriages (G.E.R) Used As Homes

Found this reference on a website about stock for sale posted by a user called 'Kinghambranch': My apologies if this has already been posted (I did do a search) but the HRA April 2015 Newsletter includes an item on 2 GER coach bodies, currently forming part of a (you've guessed it) bungalow, that is...

Re: Red Rock Valley

I'm in my late twenties (27 on Friday) and should be tech savvy, but I don't have much time to YouTube, I have two little uns that I don't want to wake up too and I work late like every day, but I was able to watch a photo compilation video with the sound off and I think it looks really awesome. My ...
