Re: Beaglington-On-Sea 00 gauge in 6ft by 4ft

Soooooooo this whole no work stay at home stuff is really messing with my head. One of the things I did manage to get done was building the little coal traders/yard office hut that came free with railway modeller, so I took photos as I built it. Nice photos - and lets face it, the only nightlife we're all getting at the moment  Thanks, I'll try to post a new update later today. I have to brave the perils of the weekly shop at the small supermarket in the village today, I used to go shop everyday afterwork to get what I needed and have...

Re: Wibbleton, Double Track 10x4 Layout

Lovely to see the Titfield 'Thunderbolt' out of the museum ;D Nice bunch of locos on shed, could really do with more myself, though Ive only room for two tanks or a single tender loco on shed on my layout :!: P Is there a trackwork issue where the Wickham derailed or was the trolley just in "hi...

Re: Beaglington-On-Sea 00 gauge in 6ft by 4ft

Nice to see you love for the MSLR hasnt changed  That shed looks good, would look lovely with the 14xx simmering away outside of it. Thanks. I need to get a new 0-4-0 as the lining is rubbing off mine, and the chassis is worn out after 14 years near continuous use. Wouldn't mind some more of ...

Revamping An Engine Shed I'll start with the laying of the surface in the goods yard, but the main focus of this post is revamping an engine shed. Fairly simple this one, I painted it with PVA: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49716194018_569ef2b1c5_o.jpg And then I sprinkled some local beach sa...

Re: Beaglington-On-Sea 00 gauge in 6ft by 4ft

Man I miss work and the pub. I was going to order myself some nice interesting and sour beers but woke up to find that 60 euro of my 350 euro pandemic relief payment has been taken in quarterly charges by my AIB, so nothing special this week FFS it'll all be out of stock by next week. First world pr...

Thanks, hoping to post some more tonight but firefox has been thwarting me, managed to stop it by disabling reading mode which was broken (I never use it anyways).

Re: Beaglington-On-Sea 00 gauge in 6ft by 4ft

Time for another update I suppose. This time it's to do with ground cover. At the beach end of the layout I covered areas in sand from our own beach, based on the idea that summer breezes through the dunes and winter storm waves heap up sand onto the trackbed and surrounding area (Much like our own ...

The ballasting has made a huge difference to the look of the whole layout - looks great :D. I too am sneezing here as I type this, thinking I do not have CV either - can't decide if I'd rather have it and get it over with, or try to avoid it :?:. We're in lockdown in this family anyway as my daught...

Re: Beaglington-On-Sea 00 gauge in 6ft by 4ft

Hello all, Been offline for a bit as I've been busy with the layout and kids (getting into new routines now I'm unemployed...I miss work) but I've got these pics ready to go so I'll roll with them. These pictures show the aftermath of the ballasting of the previous photo post, it seems to have worke...
