Re: Hornby Teak 61ft 6" coaches.

The hornby price increase has made these an extortionate price, even secondhand these coaches have started to become rare in their appearances on ebay and are starting to reach the £40-£45 mark. It is the printing process that makes them expensive I have started to backdate some hornby maroon coache...

Re: loft boards

Cheers for the updated advice but alot has changed since the orginal post. the recurring crack is a result of the house moving due to the streees of being an end terrace and I have fixed that problem, the loft is alot stronger than orginaly thought. I did move into the spare Bedroom however a small ...

Re: Weird Stuff On The railways. What Have You Seen?

A class 60  Possibly 60066 in grey DB/drax livery pulling a long line of bogie petroleum tanks through Didcot. Have not seen a Class 60 in years :? It was certainly different compered to the maroon sheds that populate Didcot. That's the theale fuel tanks returning empty they don't run everyd...

Re: have hornby finally lost the plot?

The full site you see on pc has been the same for days but if you go on the mobile site on your smart phone and click on a 2014 product you'll get that message.

have hornby finally lost the plot?

At the risk of being accused of being a Hornby basher i thought i bring you to the attention of a rather alarming statement I've read. Whilst on the model railways direct website for mobiles i clicked on the j15 to see if it was ready for pre order. The site claims that Hornby have forbidden mail or...

Re: Hornby R1172 E-Link Majestic Train set

Hornby haven't a clue about knowing the market. The Olympics proved that. They could have made this set so much better and desirable at no cost to them selves. Again I state my point Hornby do know the market. To put a top end loco and coaches in this set would have increased the price dramatically...

Re: Hornby R1172 E-Link Majestic Train set

Agreed for the price it's a poor show, a few years ago you could get the premier set for about the same price and it was a lot better quality with super detailed loco and coaches. If you going to pay that much for a train set then you probably know what you want to model and don't want a set that ha...

Re: Hornby R1172 E-Link Majestic Train set

when Hornby announced this set I was very unimpressed, an a1 loco that never made it into preservation alongside a class 47 with a handful of p/o wagons. It seemed to me no thought went into this set whatsoever.

Re: Modern Steam technology and the speed record.

There was a proposal to build a modern steam engine using modern techniques, but the plan fell through. I think the Yanks are currently working on a new steam loco in an attempt to take the record. Interestingly the latest copy of steam magazine has an article on A4’s and in particular the enginemen...

Re: Hornby 2014 speculation thread

Given Hornby's form of late perhaps a true reflection of production for a predicted 2014 release would be what they are NOT producing. That way no one will be surprised or disappointed when the promised "not to be released" items are NOT released. This will allow Hornby to catch up on its...

Re: Hornby 2014 speculation thread

I'd actually like to see someone make the 812 *the class that Donald & Douglas are based off of*. In terms of southern, an S15 would be good enough but there is a big lack of LMS pre-grouping designs in the R-T-R market. It would also be nice to see an LMS pannier, also more black 5s please. Th...
