We have made some progress on the layout. We managed to pain all of the outer bits of the baseboard, just the inner bits to go now. Pictures coming soon.

Just a quick update,
We measured up for a extension at the weekend, just a small one behind the tunnel to make sure that no locos fall off!

Yep it should be good, and will go well with my other A4s.

Another reason they did not choose to overhaul a different loco like Evening Star (Which I think the NRM have already said they won't run) or The Duchess of Hamilton is because people won't donate to see them running, where as alot more people will donate to see Flying Scotsman running.

You'd think the NRM could take some care into the worlds most famous loco, some of the mistakes you mentioned are very bad, and insufficient project management, how could that happen on any loco?
