Re: Ebay madness

That set of rules Katabatic posted is perfect, and If I were in charge of eBay I would make all new users read it first! Section 7 is particularly important. The most irritating thing for me when I was selling was when people won auctions and then didn't pay, or respond to emails, for ages. I had on...

Re: Ebay madness

In response to the ridiculous price on the cottage, that looks real to me. I recently sold off almost my entire collection of Lyddle End, and achieved some incredible/ridiculous/mad prices (delete as appropriate). Here is one of the best examples: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180732115247 Jack Beeton's...

Re: Dapol HST additional coaches review

I too was a little frustrated that all 3 of the coaches have the same letter, but considering the size of them, and the fact that you can't see them when they're belting along at a scale 125mph, i'm not too worried. My boxes were the same, the foam insert is WAY too tight on the models. I may well t...

Except it is. Dapol did most of the manufacturing work for Ixion for the Manor. Things like the tender drive and cardan shaft are all Dapol.

Re: Langley 14xx and autocoach

I have one of the very first 14XXs ever released by Dapol, product code ND001. It's a lovely model! Great little runner, not as well geared as later Dapol releases but very good all the same. My only issue is that the GWR lettering has started to rub off after repeated handling! I've generally heard...

Re: Ixion Hinton Manor

I own a Cookham Manor. It's not particularly noisy, but it's not as quiet as some of the Farish Diesel mechanisms.

I've certainly got no complaints with mine. Probably one of Dapol's better models!

I'll be there, my second time.

I'm also bringing a couple of friends who've not visited before.

Re: dapol 9F

I have one of the Evening Star versions, which I believe is one of the earlier releases, and i've had absolutely no problems with mine. Runs perfectly on everything but 1st radius track (no surprises there, it is a 2-10-0!), detail is stunning, and haulage capacity is pretty much spot on. I'd happil...

Re: 2012 n gauge wish list

so I wonder is some SR Pacifics will be in the offing? If Dapol were to release a modern spec 257 Squadron or Eddystone, I'd be a very poor man. I really hope they look at the Bulleid Pacifics, they are popular, and there are loads of them in different liveries to produce, which is ideal for Dapol....

Re: Dapol Hall

Those wheels won't be fixed i'm afraid. That model in the video is a production model, as a couple of the Halls are now available. Apparently Dapol have photographic evidence that when outshopped from the works, Halls had steel coloured wheels. Regardless, it doesn't look right, but hey ho. At least...

Re: 2012 n gauge wish list

As there there are super duper LNER, LMS ang GWR coaches how about some southern coaches. Iron clads would be nice. You'll be very happy to hear then, that when questioned on their Facebook page, Dapol mentioned that Maunsell Coaches are being looked at for 2012/13... Hi Andrew, Maunsell coaches ar...

Re: Dapol DBS red maple 67

As a starter, here is a link to an entry on Nigel Burkin's blog with some very good photos, and a brief review: http://nigelburkin.wordpress.com/2011/04/28/dbs-canadian-class-67/ Performance wise, it's identical to the other versions of the 67; in other words, bloody brilliant. The 67 probably takes...

Re: 2012 n gauge wish list

My wishlist for 2012 is the same as it has been for the last couple of years: Class 442 5WES Wessex Electric Revamped Class 158 and 159 in South West Trains Livery Class 444 and 450 Desiro Class 455 Class 377 Class 73 re-issued in the SWT Desiro livery Beyond that, things like a revamped Castle Clas...

Re: n - gauge set track radii in inches

Which manufacturer? Almost every manufacturer produces slightly different radiuses. The standard Peco set-track radii: 1st Radius = 8.98" (228mm) 2nd Radius = 10.37" (263.5mm) 3rd Radius = 11.75" (298.5mm) 4th Radius = 13.13" (333.4mm) If i'm not mistaken, this info is provided i...
