Re: WORKING TRAMS-OO/HO-Cheap!

Hello End2end If you check out my article entitled LNER COACHES - IMPROVING OLD HORNBY MODELS on this site it features a fabulous set of wood effect paints which could be used to great effect on this model. On the motor issue, I found that reglazing (as described) and locating a few seated passenger...

WORKING TRAMS-OO/HO-Cheap!

1.jpg I've always fancied a couple of trams running around in the city area of my new layout. I looked into it and could find only extremely expensive models (way beyond my budget) or complicated instructions for motorising static models (way beyond my level of skill). Then I came across these. As ...

LNER COACHES - Improving old Hornby models

a.JPG This was inspired by a purchase I made on a well known auction site. I was looking for some Hornby LNER coaches. A lady had bought a bunch of them at a boot sale. She listed them as follows - " Six gold plastic railway coaches " And of course she was spot on! A while later Hornby br...

Re: STAINED GLASS WINDOWS FOR MODEL CHURCHES

Love your layout, Buffer. Stunning - spent a happy age looking at it. Beautiful and idiosyncratic like all the best are. Real work of art. Tried the transparency method a while back and sadly it doesn't work. After a lot of fiddling around the print looked fine but extremely small. I saw no reason w...

STAINED GLASS WINDOWS FOR MODEL CHURCHES

6a.JPG I thought I would share a discovery I made while lighting my buildings. I've always found it disappointing that proprietary brands of model churches are supplied with clear windows or no glazing at all - and that stained glass would look excellent if lit. And then I thought, "nail varni...

Re: HORNBY H&M 2000 DUAL TRANSFORMER

Hello Scask Late onto this but if you're still after a manual for the HM2000 I can send you one. Edward's very long linky seems to be broke! I bought this controller second hand without a manual and requested one on the Hornby website. It took forever but they sent me the leaflet that comes with it ...

Re: Mainline Class 45s

I too have a bunch of Mainline locos and love them to bits! Really can't afford modern Bachmann and Hornby prices. Find the detail on Mainline models extremely good and can easily be improved - too good in some ways because areas around the valve gear and pistons can be very fragile on some of them ...
