Re: Narrow gauge help please

Well the plans have changed my fiancée has seen some of the Busch Christmas market stalls so I have to include those and a church so an Austrian/German theme looks to be a goer. Oh and plenty of lights but it'll give me an insight into narrow gauge and modeling HO scale which seems huge.

Re: Narrow gauge help please

Things have moved along a little as my fiancée suggested we have a railway round the base of the Christmas tree I didn't argue at the prospect of getting a sly layout built. So I have cut a piece of MDF 48" O.D. With a 20" hole to experiment with track layout I think it will just be a sing...

Re: Narrow gauge help please

I have downloaded Pecos turnout plans to have a play would ordinary N track be ok to experiment with I assume it behaves much the same. I will be building a small layout to begin with maybe a line through a small village.

Narrow gauge help please

Re: My N gauge layout

Hi lofty the ply is 8mm for the framing with 6mm top it has a 9mm board diagonaly underneath to make the whole lot rigid in retrospect i should have made the framing half the depth i did to allow more head room under the bed therefore higher scenics could have been added.

Re: My N gauge layout

I have taken some pics of the switch box which is re-movable so the board will roll under the bed without snagging

Re: My N gauge layout

The track is code 55 the curve radius is 15" to get the maximum run on the board all the underlay and track is copydex'd down which worked a treat i will be using DC and have wired each piece of track layed with 4 isolating sections operated by switches. 002 (4).JPG 004 (3).JPG 006.JPG 002 (5)....

My N gauge layout

Hi i started this a while ago it is proceeding steadily basicly i wanted a layout that has to be stored under the spare bed so not to high. I want a layout i can just run model trains on i'm not sticking to a particular era or area as i like to many things so it would be impossible to narrow it down...
