Spitfire DCC

Looking to get my orange box R.374 BoB Spitfire converted to DCC. Loco is in as new condition as never been run more than a short test. Still has a sealed detail pack and very shiny wheels. Basically it is a NEW loco. Would like instructions on how to do this or maybe better to get a more experience...

Re: Track

I have plenty of spare Hornby and PECO set track points.

Think I have a 2nd radius and 1st radius oval.

Re: Walthers 130 DCC Turntable PROBLEM

By--pass the built in decoder, if you can drive the motor on DC fit a loco chip and drive it by hand. If you put an isolating switch in the wiring and connected it as DC you could drive it on address 0 if that's set up on your system, it would be a bit short lived without the isolating switch :( Th...

Re: Walthers 130 DCC Turntable PROBLEM

This is the official word from Walthers: Greetings, Sorry to hear about the issue with the turntable. The Err1 message is an issue that can happen with that release of turntables. If all of the contacts are clean that means it can be a problem with the PC board in the control box. Unfortunately we d...

Re: Walthers 130 DCC Turntable PROBLEM

Thanks.

Yes I have seen that advice plus other ideas including rip it out and rewire with a loco DCC chip.

I have tried cleaning it no luck :(

Walthers 130 DCC Turntable PROBLEM

Walthers 130 DCC Turntable PROBLEM. I got this second hand and it did work briefly on DCC. But now all I get is Err1 on the control box. I have tried it on DC and DCC but same problem. I have tested the motor directly and it works ok. I am told that Err1 means no connection between the bridge and pi...

The dreaded CV29

This is a very useful page for setting the value of CV29. It N gauge but works on HO/OO.

I had a loco that would not run on DC and ran "backwards" on DCC.

All operating correctly now

Thin Strippers

When hard wiring decoders or fitting new plugs I find the delicate thin wires difficult to strip.

My wire strippers are meant for much thicker wire. Sometimes I make a small cut in the insulation then pull off with a finger nail but looking for a more suitable tool.
