For the second time the layout have been sold.
I've been in touch with the present owner who is sad to see it go, however it seems the third owner is excited about having this layout.
Hopefully the new owner will continue to show it off on this site.....

Re: The Welton Layout - for sale, again!
It's well over a year since I sold this layout to a young chap and it was only today when I found out this layout is up for sale again because the current owner wanted to concentrate on a smaller layout and changing from OO to O gauge. If you happen to be interested in this layout, have a look at th...

Re: Rayne St, Fictional N-Gauge Layout - Update 22/01/13
Looking great! You've done well so far. You'll remember me from my OO gauge layout, Welton, that was sold last year because of the house move. I am now in the middle of designing a new layout, and guess what? This time I'm going for n-gauge, a new challenge for me. I hope to do as good as yours! Wil...

N gauge layout
Hey hope you can help me with one issue - its about using radius for n gauge. I am toying with the idea of having a N gauge layout, but am looking into ideas of what I could have on a layout before I decide whether to go for N gauge, or stick with OO. I was wondering if all n gauge steam and diesel ...

Re: Suitable height for a layout
Thanks for the comments guys. I am aware of how difficult it may be to work on the layout if it was above the waist level, ie to be able to reach the back of the layout, but as I am planning to make the layout portable, I don't think it would be a problem, because I can take one or two boards down a...

Re: Suitable height for a layout
I strongly feel that for an exhibition layout it should not be shown at a normal person's eye level, it rules out all those who have to use a wheelchair or electric buggy, not to mention kids. What you do at home is up to you, at exhibitions a height of about 110cms is about right. The answer for t...

Suitable height for a layout
Hey! I'm planning a new layout and cannot decide whether to go for OO (using rolling stocks from my old layout, Welton) or to do a new challenge and go for N gauge. The new layout will be located in one of the bedrooms. I plan to have a portable layout, so that I can perhap take it with me to exhibt...

Re: The Welton Layout - now with the new owner
If I were you, I'd go with the large n-scale layout, and make a smaller 'shelf' layout in 00 scale so the 00 stock can be run now and then - this could even be kept underneath the N scale layout, out of the way. Unless of course, you have so much 00 scale stock already that you don't want to go to ...

Re: The Welton Layout - now with the new owner
Hi Paul, Your last layout was fantastic, it had a very realistic look to it. When I was younger I used to run OO stuff, and I remember seeing the N gauge rolling stock and thinking that wasn't for me. Now however the N gauge locos and carriages and wagons are just fantastic. The detailing is very f...
