Probably the only way to avoid the 'rounded square' look is to use flextrack. You're not limited then. You can go wherever you want to ... sort of. The right could be a sweeping station. The bottom and left could be through countryside or mountains.

Personally, I find it excruciating. However, I believe if you have serious dedication and willpower you will get the better of this little ... package. Have you tried this thread. I haven't read much of it but even the first post gives a lot of info and links.

Try Scarm. This is the link to the thread on this forum, if you wish to have a read through what others think about it. I think it's fantastic. You can work out levels and view your design in 3D. I'll have a better look at your plan tomorrow.

You should have a look -here- for some ideas (or one anyway) on tunnel building.

Assuming that -this- is the trackmat you have, then I'd think anywhere on the left (top or bottom or both) would work. TK, sorry if that's what you said. Obviously it depends on which way round you look at it.

I'm not really sure, but is something like this what you mean. The blue rectangle is 6x2. Curved point, 2 double 2nd R curves, standard 2nd R on top, 2nd R half curve on bottom and then same/opposite on the other side.

I've seen some layout at exhibitions that use perspex along the from edge. It's something that I'll look into for my (eventual) layout. I don't know where you'd get it or how much you'd expect to pay though.
