G'Day Gents

Engine shed is looking good, K&S, is about the only brass available here in Oz, but as you say, rather short.

G'Day Gents

To tell the truth Ex-Pat, I can't remember, I must have bought them 45 years ago (maybe more) I always wanted to have a go at build my own chassis, so if this one works (which I see no reason why it won't) I'll be building more. :D

Re: Edgware GN, New loco, J5

G'Day Gents Thank you joshv8, I haven't had a lot of time since Christmas, what little I've had I've spent on building loco's, so very little on the layout, I was hoping to rebuilt the MPD, it'll be winter before we know it. The wheels for the J7 arrived a couple of weeks ago, they've been fitted pl...

Re: From a "Hunt" to a "Shire"

Thanks manna - I'll set up a shot - which A3 would you like? Thanks Chris - I did think of shirt buttons - but the Ian Kirk components provided ready-made axles (static and glued in situ - 'can't have it falling off - probably I should put a safety plank across the coaling platform!). Also they sav...

Re: Edgware GN, New loco, J5

G'Day Gents Hi Ex-Pat Thanks for that, a couple of runningplates have had brass strengtheners (P1 offhand). But thought my 'Banana' runningplate, was 'A' beyond salvage, & 'B' to thick, it's 1.5 mm already, another 1.5 mm, would have made it a scale 9 inches thick....To much, I think. Nice to se...

Re: Edgware GN, B2 update.

G'day Gents Started work on my next project a J5, using a Brass etched fold up chassis, the same as the J6 and J1, to cut a long story short, the body bent like a banana, I overlayed the 80 thou runningplate with a skin of 5 thou plastic card, and I made the cab to tall and glued the cab to the chas...

G'Day Gents

Not very likely that the Railway will Ever get reinstated to Hawick, unless they go 'around' the town.

Finally, the B2 is now working for a living on the layout, only 4 coaches at the moment, lets run it in first.

Re: Edgware GN, B2 update.

G'Day Gents

No, the GN Royal train, is not on my list of things to do.........yet. A train of six wheelers would be of more use.

More parts have been ordered, for Gresley's W1, and new wheels for the J7.
