Re: Edgware GN,

G'Day Gents Still working on the station, built the canopy on the platform side, sorry no pics yet. But I have started another loco, I have a C12, in brass, I've re-wheeled it and fitted a new motor but it's always been a bit of a rough one, so while I was fiddling with it the other day I gave the c...

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

G'Day Gents Congratulations on getting you layout into a magazine, I'll keep and eye out for it, 'But' they often take six weeks to get here and are a bit hit and miss, the great benefit of our Forums, is not only we get to see your layout, we also get to see you build it, something they don't show ...

Re: Edgware GN,

G'Day Gents Thanks for the replies, Jim I do doubt that it will ever get that hot in Scotland, but I also doubt that we'll ever get as cold as it dose in Scotland (heaven forbid) Ex-Pat, copy away, it helps the cause, to give you a better idea on how I did it, here's a couple of pics of the undersid...

Re: Edgware GN,

G'Day Gents I said to Ex-Pat that 2018 would be the year of the station, and seeing as I started it 'Years' ago I thought I'd better finish it, one of the main problems is that the central building (Booking hall) had warped in the heat, it reached 46c in the shade, probably near 65c + in the sun, so...

G'Day Gents

I see the tea chests are marked Produce of Sri Lanka, but when did Ceylon become Sri Lanka, that was in 1972, so steam would have been gone for five years !!!!!

G'Day Gents

Excellent looking building, and, as has been said,a lot of forward planning has gone in to this build, but what about council planning permission, it's almost big enough to warrant it !!!!!!! :D

G'Day Gents

Looking really good, is it Freelance or based on a real loco ?

manna

PS Just read backwards, I see it's a real loco, it looks quite cute, bit like the old BR class 07's. :D

Re: Edgware GN,

G'Day Ex-Pat Yep, 3818 withdrawn Jan 1924, see that pic was taken in 1924, it probably only had days to live, coopslner, models between 1945 and 1948, if I remember correctly, trying to keep it going for another 21 years might be stretching it a bit to far  Interesting the old GNR line to Staff...

Re: Edgware GN,

G'Day Gents Thank you for the replies, always great to get a bit of feedback. I made a bit of a Boo Boo with tender, I built a Ivatt tender chassis when I should have built a Stirling tender chassis, not a lot of difference, so a slight adjustment will take place later, the body is correct, although...

Re: Edgware GN,

G'Day Gents Moving on with the E1, I still have some bits to do, handrails for one, I gave handrail knobs, but two different types, and I didn't want to do each side different, also I can't find the drawgear, it's here somewhere !!!! probably in one of my half dozen bits boxes  This loco was ...

G'Day Gents

Perfectly acceptable bodge on the garage, we all have to get around life's muck ups, and plastic kits are a big culprit. Well done.

Re: Gateside and Northbridge

G'Day Gents Love those buffer stops, look like they've been there for 80-100 years, there used to be some old sidings in Kings Cross goods yard, were the old chairs just before the buffer stops were dated in the 1860's, this was in the 1970's, so old in fact the sleepers had rotted away to nothing a...
