G'Day Gents

Like the coal stage, fits the space like a glove, with the amount of coal about, tell everybody your layout is set on a Friday or Saturday, because picking up the coal was a Sunday overtime job for the shed labourer, so Monday it would have been clean, coal cost money. :D

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

G'Day Gents The picture of Didcot, looks like the tubs run in a channel !. I have seen other pictures of coal stages like the Didcot one, but they ran on rails, and to stop the tubs ending up in the tender the rails were upturned at the end of the run, and the bucket then tipped the coal into the te...

G'Day Gents

Like the update, those wagons look very good, and tempting.

I suppose there are GN Ballast brakes out there, but I haven't found one, but one that dose look the part is the Hornby 'Mainline' shark, the colours fairly close, looks faded, see below.

I make mine this way, glue the clear plastic to the window opening then fit the white frame to the clear plastic, the clear plastic won't move and your guaranteed to have the frame fit.

Re: Edgware GN,

G'Day Gents Thanks for the reply Burnie, I always happy when I can inspire someone. Still working on the new models, but even with days of work, there's nothing to look at, but it won't be long before I can show you a worthwhile update. but I can show you a couple of pictures of Deltic at Edgware, a...

Re: Edgware GN,

I'm afraid not Ex-Pat, the guy that made the mold only made four before it deteriorated beyond repair, he kept three and gave me the other, but I can tell you that the original was made from old Hornby shorty LNER coaches, his run on the old Hornby chassis, with new Fox bogies.

G'day Gents Hi, Bufferstop, You have to try everything that may come in useful, regardless what it was and may become. Due to the generosity of two Gentlemen, one in the UK and one in Canada, I am now the possessor of a GNR A5, Ivatt single wheeler body (fits onto a Hornby Caly single chassis) a GNR...

Re: Edgware GN,

G'Day Gents. Hi Jim, Loco building is not that difficult once you get to know your way round 'Plastic card' and a decent glue, a lot of the older type glues have been ' watered down' by regulations, I use a modern super glue, that lives up to it's name, it sticks in seconds, so your fingers have to ...
