Re: Coppenhall Goods (Late Crest) 00

G'Day Gents I've put some numbers, where I think, the signals should go. No. 1, this would be a mainline type signal, Home and Distant, with a small sub signal to allow shunting into the sidings to the right of the tunnel. No. 2 A small sub signal (dollie) to protect the headshunt and sidings to the...

Re: Coppenhall Goods (Late Crest) 00

G'Day Gents

Seeing that, as you say a goods yard, very few signals are needed, the exit out of the yard, by the tunnel, and a couple of ground signals to protect the running lines.

The shunters would know the times of trains entering and exiting the yard and would work around the timings.

Re: Edgware GN,

Thanks coops, I didn't think it looked to bad either, and your J6 as you said way out of the time frame.

I've given the A5 another coat of paint, this time into 'Black' like this too.

Re: Edgware GN,

Hi Mountain, yes I painted the sky first, actually painted the whole room a very light blue, then when the boards went up I just daubed green paint with a 4" brush along the walls in a tree like pattern, used a couple of different greens (tester pots) ther's no brown at all.

Re: Edgware GN,

G'Day Gents Beavering away, the new coach has had a couple of coats of paint, but looks a little shiny, I'll have to tone it down. I built a chassis, rebuilt the Fox bogies I had in a bit's box, and made up a couple of Gas tanks out of a tent peg, so a lot of weight down low. The Ivatt single has ha...

G'Day Gents

Like the coal stage, fits the space like a glove, with the amount of coal about, tell everybody your layout is set on a Friday or Saturday, because picking up the coal was a Sunday overtime job for the shed labourer, so Monday it would have been clean, coal cost money. :D

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

G'Day Gents The picture of Didcot, looks like the tubs run in a channel !. I have seen other pictures of coal stages like the Didcot one, but they ran on rails, and to stop the tubs ending up in the tender the rails were upturned at the end of the run, and the bucket then tipped the coal into the te...
