Dcc decoder plugs

Hi all
Is there a tool for putting in an removing the dcc decoder plugs.
Obviously you can’t pull the wires an a small screw driver applies a twisting motion.
Tweezers dont seem to grip them so wondering if there a specific tool

Re: Flying Scotsman kicking when running

Replaced all bearings on it would have changed the wheel set but it’s not an available spare for this version still not quite right but a lot better than it was

Re: Flying Scotsman kicking when running

Hi Rodger
I have had all gears off as wanted to check the axels were not bent
All gears are fine I thought about cracking it a worn tooth but look as they should

Re: Flying Scotsman kicking when running

So Rods are not catching
Axels are straight all bearings are fine
Yet still doing it.
Could it be a dud chassis as that means a trip to Hornby as that won’t be an available spare I bet

Re: Flying Scotsman kicking when running

Hi Bigmet
I was running it at a local club that I had gone along too.
It was there I noticed it’s kicking did all checks mentioned above there.
It’s just my own layout that’s currently dismantled

Re: Flying Scotsman kicking when running

It’s a loco drive model
All the rods seem correct aligned When looking underneath.
I’m borrowing a rolling road later to see if I can see something while running.
I don’t have a layout currently so it’s not easy to check without

Flying Scotsman kicking when running

Hi all
I have the Hornby NRM edition flying Scotsman
An it seems to be kicking when running
I have checked the quartering
The back to back and even the axels
There is slack on the axels compared to the other A3 but all looks ok.
Any ideas I’m drawing a blank as to what next

Re: 66 TTS speaker upgrade

Thanks both
I know they say fit it in the fuel Tank mould but that then muffles it An having already fitted the lights I don’t fancy taking everything out again the loco dose have a fair amount of space in
So will have a look at the speakers above

Re: Bachmann Cranky Crain

You can get a micro servo in the crane frame
So it turns from one side to the other.
But there is no room in the crane top to get one in to use as a lifting motor so will have to Sri it by hand

Re: Bachmann Cranky Crain

The cranky Crain is from the Bachman Thomas range.
It’s more of a toy than a scale model.
The servo test control is basically a wheel on a box you turn the wheel an servo moves
It’s not programmed like the around boards

Bachmann Cranky Crain

Has anybody used servos to motorise the Bachman’s cranky thinking with couple of servos I can have rotation Crain an raising an lowering hook.
Has anybody done it and any issues I might experience.
I have couple of the servo test wheels for control ether than programming like a mega point controller
