66 TTS speaker upgrade

Hi all I have recently converted the atlas editions Eddie the engine to a running model using the new hornby 66 chassis. I am now wanting to add TTS sound. But find the round speakers are a bit pants an tinny sounding. What has everyone else used. I have seen a megabase video on YouTube but no namin...

Re: Bachmann Cranky Crain

You can get a micro servo in the crane frame
So it turns from one side to the other.
But there is no room in the crane top to get one in to use as a lifting motor so will have to Sri it by hand

Re: Bachmann Cranky Crain

The cranky Crain is from the Bachman Thomas range.
It’s more of a toy than a scale model.
The servo test control is basically a wheel on a box you turn the wheel an servo moves
It’s not programmed like the around boards

Bachmann Cranky Crain

Has anybody used servos to motorise the Bachman’s cranky thinking with couple of servos I can have rotation Crain an raising an lowering hook.
Has anybody done it and any issues I might experience.
I have couple of the servo test wheels for control ether than programming like a mega point controller

Servo control

Hi all
I am looking for a way to control points
With servos.
I have looked at the mega point controller an other specific boards
But there must me a cheap simple way to do it as I need about 45 servos over 2 boards
Any ideas

Re: Dual use layout

I said I wouldn’t go dcc
I got the TTS P2 as was the only version of the detailed loco I could find.
My nephew has a twin loop dcc which was my old layout so put it on an the sound brought another level of enjoyment
Hence looking at both

Re: Dual use layout

Thanks for the reply’s I am thinking having it so it’s either in dc or dcc Don’t fancy frying motors or chips. I have a lot of older stock split chassis an tender drives which don’t lend themselves to dcc chipping an have collector models that I do run but wouldn’t want them taking apart to chip Lik...

Dual use layout

Hi all So I am building my new layout a round the room twin main line with mainline station on one side and shunting puzzle on the other. All the boards are in and track laid out all good. Then the sticking point. I want the layout to be both dc and dcc. Obviously not at the same time. I have about ...

Re: hogwarts castle class loco

Very much same as above. It sounds like the motor has or is about to give up. I had it on a Bachman split chassis not a chance I was trying that. Took it along to my local club an they swopped it out An showed me how to do it. Or a local shop to you may do repairs. If none local contact Hornby. Sure...

Re: Thomas the Tank help needed

Hi Dave Must admit I have spent more than I care to admit. The 009 stuff is good as are the working eyes. They don’t have a massive amount of pulling power if you compare to the Hornsby range. As my Hornsby Edward will easily out pull and out pace Gordon but on a 3/4 coach express there more than fi...

Re: Hornby TTS Sound, any good?

I have a few TTS locos Mainly steam an couple of diesel locos. Yes the ability to add lamps an smoke units not amazing. The speakers can be a bit tinny they are easily swopped to a sugar cube one. There £30 that’s cheaper than a standard decoder was a few years ago I have the dapol black label A4 an...
