Re: Milton Yard (N) V 2.3 Resurection Page 5

Hi Fratton,

It's looking good, I am quite interested to hear how your 08 DCC conversion turns out. I am yet to do mine and haven't been able to track down that n gauge society article stepping through it.

Cheers,
Grant

Re: Litchfield - N Gauge Layout

As mentioned above, I'll ballast it all before they get set in place. The piece you can see I've made as removable until I add the plaster crepe bandage, this will join it onto the rest of the hill and make it more permanent.

Cheers,
Grant

Re: Litchfield - N Gauge Layout

Well, it's been quite a big past two weeks. I've gotten a few bits and pieces done. Had a go at adding some depth of detail to the tunnel portals before they get stuck in place by the plaster hills and ballasting. Basically painted an undercoat of black, then light grey, light brown, mid brown, and ...

Re: Litchfield - N Gauge Layout

Hey ElDavo, I have to say I don't really know all that much about the correct directions of travel! :D It kind of was deliberate I guess, in that if I set the turnouts in a specific way and with the second cross over between the main lines I can start a loco from the platform on the yellow loop and ...

Re: Litchfield - N Gauge Layout

Just a few more photos to update. Have had a bit more of a play with chicken wire and plaster and the results have been alright. The hilly area along the incline, I've bought some static grass and a noch puffer bottle applicator to have a play with, see how it goes! http://i1228.photobucket.com/albu...

Re: Litchfield - N Gauge Layout

Well, it's been a busy past fortnight with end of financial year here. I'll add some more photos to in a day or two once I've charged my camera batteries. It's been a time of positives and negatives. So far I've gotten - - The majority of my droppers soldered to fish plates and ready to use - DCC up...

Re: Litchfield - N Gauge Layout

I'd say it's still going to be evolving and changing for a while, and I haven't thought that far ahead as to all the tree placement, but I plan to have the incline running through a patchy tree lined area, and the mountain/hill area with a brushy tree area. The flat topped hill in the centre where t...

Re: Litchfield - N Gauge Layout

Thankfully my track order from Hattons arrived today, left Liverpool on Wednesday evening, arrived in Brisbane Friday night to be delivered Monday morning. Quite impressive. :D Now for a few photos to update my busy night. I have added in the second crossover between the mainlines, I'll just have to...

Re: Litchfield - N Gauge Layout

During my lunch-hour on friday I took a little bit of time with an attempt to add some contours to the landscape on the layout design. Where the blue branch line crosses over the yellow loop I plan on building a colliery, probably pick up some of the scene-crafts buildings or try my hand at some scr...

Re: Litchfield - N Gauge Layout

Hey Fratton, that's very interesting indeed, I couldn't find anything after scouring the internet last night. It is the newer model, the space inside seems very tight for even the smallest of DCC chips. I'm going to have to track down this journal article - will I have to join the N gauge society to...

Litchfield - N Gauge Layout

Hi all, Have been a long time visitor to the forums but have only just recently gotten enough space to start building of my own layout. It's been about 15 years since I had a train layout (just about to turn 24). I'm lucky in that I've got a decent amount of space to play with, the layout being 2560...
