Re: The 00 6'x4' trackplans thread

Oh hello, this thread's still kicking about! I'll have a dig around and see if I can uncover the lost images, though I suspect they may be on a PC I replaced a while back.

Re: 1st attempt at layout design

Hi, LittleReggie, your first plan looks pretty sound to me - one thing that a lot of people miss first time on a roundy-roundy is points to cross the lines both ways. However, there are a few little things which stand out to me. Access to the terminus from the clockwise line (assuming you're operati...

Re: ENLR planning

I've always liked blue and gold, personally... Alternatively you could go for the full Col. Stephens green with salmon orange coach ends. That would give you an excuse for some really odd engines, too (bus bodies, eccentric steam locos with tiny wheels...) Just searching Colonel Stephens on G...

I'm not sure - permanent markers will definitely not work, but I don't know what kind of pen you have. Be sure to test it on something non-valuable first! :?

Re: Billington Road

I like the look of this - a lot of interest in a small space. As to scenery, just give it a shot and see what happens - it's all about experimentation. I started by nailing a single piece of track to a small board offcut and then just messing around. Take a look in my thread (I can't remember what p...

Re: Unnamed 00 in a bedroom - Weathering

Been doing some weathering! I decided that one of my wagons was far too bright, so I started experimenting with weathering. I found that an artist's brush pen can make a really good job of this http://i1247.photobucket.com/albums/gg640/whistlehead/8-1-2013_02_zps658d2524.jpg I then applied this to b...

Looking like a very plausible depot building - and I agree about the yellow beams, they will look good. I like the way you've kept them square, too

Re: Unnamed 00 in a bedroom - Some landscaping

No progress, just pondering what to do with this little bit of layout: http://i1247.photobucket.com/albums/gg640/whistlehead/cee4e4fd0b77dfb3e1c97e915841c68d.jpg Originally this siding (in the foreground) was going to be a log transfer point, but now I'm wondering if a cattle dock wouldn't be a bett...

Re: Unnamed 00 in a bedroom - Some landscaping

Good news! I've nailed down and wired up the last piece of track in the station area! http://i1247.photobucket.com/albums/gg640/whistlehead/ed60498e72cf8da7963fed89dc34371a.jpg Not so good news! I took one of my engines for a run across the bridge. All went well until it reached one of the points at...

So it's a Scottish branch line then  :D
Like the look of what you have done so far.
regards John

:D
Thanks - I'm hoping to maybe get some ballasting done and some more chicken wired own today - maybe even make a start on the bridge walls in the near future.

Re: The 00 6'x4' trackplans thread

@angusDe - that's certainly an ingenious approach! I like how much it fits into a small storage space. And the basic design is flexible, too - you could forego the large station to create a rural location, or you could design the two straight sections to fit together into the scenic component of an ...
