Re: PDH Drawings

Kindling - Thanks for that response, I don't know if your answer triggered bufferstop or he remembered it himself, big job to remember 50+ years mag contents, but solved my problem

Bufferstop- Thanks in PM

PDH Drawings

Has anyone used PDH drawings successfully lately? I ask because I'v been waiting for a response from him for over 5 weeks. I've just been through a topic on another forum and and they seem to be slow, and that was 5 years ago so I'm just wondering if PDH is still in business even though the website ...

Re: BACHMAN SPLIT CHASSIS

Sorry it took me a while to get back to you all on this one. 6c wins - a bulge on the spokes of a centre driver. A bit of careful paring off seems to have fixed it. Thanks for all your helpful suggestions and interest.

Re: BACHMAN SPLIT CHASSIS

luckymucklebackit, Mountain, 6c (close I'm nearer 5c), Iron Duke, Bigmet - thank you all for your responses. I've improved the general running by improving the motor spring contacts but will check all your points over the weekend and let you know the results.

BACHMAN SPLIT CHASSIS

Hi All. I'm having fun playing with a poor running Bachmann split chassis BR4MT. It sticks at the same place on the wheel each time but the quartering looks OK, the motion doesn't appear to be sticking, it still does it is I feed straight onto the two chassis halves and its had a good strip down cle...

Gee Dee Models, Nottingham

The owner (aged 88) has been trying to sell for over 12 months so he can retire, but without any takers. Talking to staff this week they're expecting to be shut by Christmas, everything is reduced by 20% at the moment and the website is talking about an 'everything must go sale' but date not yet ann...

Re: The Railway Executive

Thanks to all who replied on this one. I had a vague idea that it was in the area that D605eagle said but wasn’t sure. Both examples I’ Seen have been dated in the 1950’s so that could fit.

The Railway Executive

Hi All

I have, on two occasions, found plates on preserved industrial locomotives inscribed "Registered by The Railway Executive".
Is anyone able to explain the significance of these plates please?

Re: Missing chimneys

Hi Bob, I've just come across this post a bit late, but if you haven't solved your problem Alan Gibson ( http://www.alangibsonworkshop.com/ )
have a Jubilee chimney listed in their catalogue on page 12.

Re: Wordsworth Scale Converter

I'd never noticed this on Mikes site before (always rushing to his kits), I've just downloaded it and can see it being really useful.

Thanks Mike and Tony and Bufferstop for bringing it to my attention.

Re: Scalescenes T022 Terraced Houses

Hi Bufferstop I probably could buy a printer cheaper than a full set of colour ink, but often, printers are sold with a reduced quantity of ink included so I could end up back where I started. I've decided to go with buying extra capacity ink cartridges on the net. The sellers reckon they should giv...

Re: Scalescenes T022 Terraced Houses

Hi Bigglesof266 and Bufferstop Thanks for all that info. My printer is a HP Deskjet D1600 which uses a small single colour cartridge. I normally do very little colour printing and in the past I've felt it probably dried up before I'd used it fully. Its OK for small jobs and where I've built a single...

Re: Scalescenes T022 Terraced Houses

Thanks for that Tom

It's not a new printer but it is one where the three colours are in one small cartridge and they never seem to last long.
I must be honest I've never bought them online but I might try now.

Re: Scalescenes T022 Terraced Houses

Hi Bufferstop Thanks for the immediate response, I thought of doing a rough build but without using proper card thicknesses on the walls its not that accurate. The kit uses between 13 and 16 sheets of A4, I had previously printed about six sheets of brickpaper from a new cartridge and run out after ...

Scalescenes T022 Terraced Houses

Hi all I am contemplating using a number of Scalescenes T022 Terraced Houses kits along the front of my layout. I have gone as far as downloading the files but am having a problem working out the size of the overall floorplan. One of the images on the Scalescenes page gives the overall size of a pai...
