I have 4 dummy locos now a airfix 31 motor gone triang blue 37 on Lima bogies Lima 47 seized motor and striped gears ,a mainline warship which had broken its gear train none of these cost more than £15.00 but double heading is now very easy so if you have a loco that is on its last legs then why not

When i had my tv repair shop i only had 3 soldering irons 15 /25 watt antex and a big 100 watt solder gun so on the railway only use the 25 one just change the tip a desolder pump is useful

Forgot to say put a CD type motor in it as well gets rid of the growl and better running easy enough to do and even easier if you can solder makes a good model for not too much money

Tearing my hair out on this one Lima 37 fitted tts in the loco but was so jerky so did a web search and found the answer adjusted CV 150 to 1/CV153 to 215/CV154 to 0 that did the job runs like a dream best of it is i have done it many times but just for got moral of this keep a small note book with ...

Done a few of my Lima motors easy to do a lot better running does not seam to be any loss of power to loco so if you have a poor runner why not give it a go as i use DCC motor voltage no problem you can get a voltage dropper kit as well a google search will find what you want so you get your loco ba...

Got the motor changed now runs 100% better even slow running .so from what would have been a scarp model i have a serviceable loco :D

Goggle is your friend for this job(a lot of videos to show you how) also supply of motors as well one firm even does a complete kit for you also found on the bay .I use a good quality super glue to fix mine .if you can strip a motor down to clean then a replacement is straight forward .I think the c...

Lima loco

Not going to service Lima motors any more just going to change them for the CD type cheap enough on the bay and takes about the same amount of time, plus side you get a far better running loco,only have a end to end layout so good running is important to me

The one that is fitted to the 66 decoder is not a round one mine was not and is not too bad fitted in the body may want sealing in the case it comes in i always give them a try before thinking about a change.I always wind up or sound person at the model railway club by telling him you need a 15 inch...

Just got round to watching the show reminded me of a lot of clubs fair amount of skill shown and the right layout won on the day .Could you build a layout in 3 days take me a month to do the base board.At least it is opening our great hobby to the general public.

Not bad value for money a good tip for them is to change the speaker i like them and i can have more than one sound loco
