Re: NSE days old oak now with steam.
Hagley is preserved, at the Severn Valley Railway, currently awaiting an overhaul in the Engine House at Highley. D1013 is an excellent choice, such a lovely loco and one of my favorite preserved 52's. +1 I agree with Kenny Ranger is a great loco and as you have Fusilier they would make a great par...

Re: NSE days old oak now with steam.
Hi Richard looking forward to seeing Greyhound all detailed up. :D If your layout was earlier, another intersting loco would be a peak 45/1 as Oct 83 -May 84 the 1M14 13.07 Paddington-Liverpool was booked for one coming up to Padd on a early morning train from Cardiff. Very occasionaly and if we wer...

Re: NSE days old oak now with steam.
Hi Richard so will you be stretching it a bit by getting a 22 you could use modellers licence and pretend one of theese erstwhile machines was saved from the scrap man. Re a 40 why not? you could pretend it is thier for an open day. In early 80's 1 reached Padd after assisting a failure at Ban...

Re: Hornby Class 50/1 No. 50149 Defiance
The most common problem with those marker lights is the contacts under the cab interior not connecting properly. The fix is to remove the body, which just unclips and lifts off, AFTER FIRST PULLING THE ETH JUMPER CABLES FROM THE CAB FRONTS - sorry for shouting but failure to do that step will resul...

Re: Hornby Class 50/1 No. 50149 Defiance
My mate has just purchased one of these, as he hasn't got a layout I have just track tested it. One question, are the marker lights above the cab supposed to illuminate ? I know they do on the newer models. Congrats to your mate for purchasing Defiance, how much did he pay? Yes the two high eyes sh...

Re: QBR (Quarry Bank Railway) ~ Quarry Bank 00
No offense but there is no similarity they are both totally different a Deltic looks nothing like a 40 or a 37. Look at them in close up
Mod Edit: You are starting to get up the noses of quite a few members AGAIN, sort yourself out or move on

Re: QBR (Quarry Bank Railway) ~ Quarry Bank 00
Finally caught up on this one. Blimey there were a lot of posts since I last looked! Tip... put the cab doors on and it does wonders for hiding the gaps between tender and loco. I found that the draw bar seemed to be a bit too long even for set-track radius bends: http://img221.imageshack.us/img221...

Re: NSE days old oak its future in doubt
Nice snowplough.
What about 50035,? she rarely appears?
How come you get all theese locos free?
So if you have to reduce fleet what 50's would go? and what would stay?

Larry, very nice N layout especially since you got it free.
Looking forward to see how you will incorporate this into your existing one.
Good luck should be fun.

Re: NSE days old oak its future in doubt
