Re: Birmingham New Street in P4
No further info I'm afraid Paddington trains were routed on the other side of the station. This one is more likely heading for the lickey and Exeter. Even for deep winter it's pretty dark for ten to six I'd have thought Cheers Jim Nope that is the time it would have left Paddington  from memor...

Re: NSE days old oak
Today spent the morning seeking finacial advice and although encouraging still looks bleak and several options are open and the main one is finding future employment. There seems thou a possibilty that the layout could soldier on atleast for a few months if i dont find work although any future spend...

Re: Class 47 Virgin Trains Cross Country Formations
We also ran loco hauled to Liverpool, though I can't remember where they came from, Plymouth I think... 86 hauled to Liverpool, though if you want an unusual set up i can confirm that we once ran one top and tailed with an 86 and 47, I was the guard! The reason was that the brakes on the rear vehic...

Re: Dirty boy!
Does it really matter.......? He wanted to weather it, he's done it. No need for the silly fact session again. I disagree, no 4 never carried black roof so is wrong i was just giving him the correct locos he could use. I just do not like locos been painted in liverys they never carried in se...

Re: Deltics are Being returned to service
Deltics, Westerns, Hoovers, Warships, 37's, 47's ........Whatever  , its good to see any form of heritage traction earning a living once again if you ask me! :D 8) Totaly agree even for the 47  at least it is a proper loco and not one of the boring boxes on wheels. I refer to of course...

Re: Deltics are Being returned to service
Nope most in the older generation would, probably not todays generation i admit, although there are some who appreciate Vulcan's finest. My Dad is in his mid-40's, he grew up with class 37's and Deltics etc. I've just shown him a picture of a class 50, and he has never even seen or heard of them... ...

Re: Deltics are Being returned to service
I agree with minternet a 50 would be next popular to a Deltic from an Enthusiats point of view. :D From a class 50 enthusiast, possibly not every enthusiasts view  Nope most in the older generation would, probably not todays generation i admit, although there are some who appreciate Vulcan's f...

Re: Deltics are Being returned to service
I love AR's loyalty, but to be realistic if they are to bring any loco back into service its most likely to be another 37 or a 47 in preference to a 50... Use of a Deltic smacks of desperation in the first place.... It could be, the two engine thing, and if that is the case if one was available the...

Re: Deltics are Being returned to service
Hi everyone I don't think the class 50's will be returning to service but the 37's might The thing with the deltics though is just a one of until they get some more modern loco's in We will have to wait and see, i am sure if The Alliance recieve a call they will rise to the occasion. Fantastic to s...

Re: Deltics are Being returned to service
No chance, 37's are not as powerful would need 2 of them a 50 has 2,700 hp compared with the 37's under 2,000 rating. Theres plenty of 37's to go round, and as they are already in service with a few companies, they surely would be one of the first to be called up. Maybe, but if they want extra powe...
