I think you would be far safer using something like Peco Powerlube.A bottle will last you quite a long time bearing in mind you need only apply very sparingly. :)

Re: Bobs layout "Beckwood" storage/shunting on 6

Take a bit more than picking on my trains to offend me!!  20 and 24 are both fairly new, both cracking runners and very smooth. 24 is far better on detail and lighting but no weathering, thats next! 20 is weathered but very lightly, will be needing more. I`ve got an 08 for shunting but w...

Re: Ballast...

Hello again everyone, Well, I've jumped in at the deep end - but did have a practice first. I tacked a couple of pieces of sprae track down with cork beneath to a strip of wood, then trimmed the edge of the cork parallel to the edge of the sleepers. I used a 50/50 mix of PVA and Water with a drop o...

Re: George's layout ~ Modern OO gauge - Progress

Hey George nice weathering job on the Gronk, you've not over done it which means you can always weather it a bit more if you want to.The track is looking good too, maybe a light dusting over the ballast with the airbrush just to blend it all together :) Sensible idea to downsize your layout mate.I kno...

Re: George's layout ~ Modern OO gauge - Airbrushing pics

Good start to your layout George, very good weathering job seeing as it was your first go.I know what you mean about cleaning your air brush but it's a job that needs doing, you will only get good results if you keep it clean.
Keep posting your pics

Re: Cork Trackbed

Having just read Grahame's post above i would add that personally i use cork to cover my baseboard's,( i think it help's to deaden the sound you get when running on a bare board, other's may disagree), i only build small layouts, so this keeps the cost of the cork down.I don't use cork to make a trac...
