Re: Hutchinson, MN- American HO switching yard

I like the backscene, it's one of the many things I need to sort on my layout this summer.

Re: The Ffarquhar Branch - 6x4ft Replica

That's a great model, I'm too young to remember the RM article on the original layout, but I always enjoy seeing the Rev Awdry's work whenever possible.

Re: Triang transcontinental referb project (title change)

I have tried pushing through the hole, all I managed to do was break a pencil  I can only guess that the roof is glued around the entire rim, I'm going to have to investigate glue break/melting techniques as I cannot and do not want to replace all 4 roof pieces, only the one vista dome one. The...

Re: Triang transcontinental referb project (title change)

I know I'm dragging a really old thread back from the dead, but does anyone know how to separate the transcontinental coach roofs from the body sides? Mine appear to be glued, (not sure if they all were,) I'd like to replace the windows and fit interiors, also one is a dome car that I'd like to chan...

Looking good, that mineral wagon has just the right amount of weathering for my taste, just what I need on my small rake of 3 in fact :)

Re: Gantsville - Building an HO Inglenook

I'm thinking of going with the medium option, it's what I was considering originally, but wanted to see what other people's thoughts were before committing myself. As for what to mount it on, I still have plenty of the 3mm thick closed cell insulation foam I purchased a couple of years back for Budg...

Re: Gantsville - Building an HO Inglenook

More of a theory based post this week as I have been taken in by a couple of Udemy courses to improve my skills and career prospects going forward, but I was thinking about the building required on Gantsville. A long time ago I showed off a Muir Models kit and I would like to begin building it in th...

Re: Gantsville - Building an HO Inglenook

I do need to dust the trees and bushes in more autumnal colours to match the leaf fall on the floor, the hedge at the back I am still undecided about. It was an experiment in what's possible for as little financial outlay as possible, the blitzed up sponge is still too coarse for my liking, but unti...

Re: Gantsville - Building an HO Inglenook

Welcome to 2018 and a tentative attempt to post something at least once a week somewhere on the forum, (either here or in the Budgetbrooke thread, (depending on geographical location of what I've modelled). So, without further ado, here's some poor photography and accompanying words. The first thing...
