Re: The cost of locos

i think railway modelling has got to be the dearest hobby nowadays. Really ? Try photography or anything involving cars. As with any other hobby there are degrees, it depends how you approach it. You can buy a half decent digital camera for 50 quid from Argos, or you can do what my mate did and buy...

Re: IS THIS A BACHMANN PEAK OR HAVE I BEEN ADD

If I recall the Replica releases may have carried Bachmann branding, they were afterall manufactured for Replica by Bachmann using the Mainline tooling, so if the box is long lost the only reference is the stamp on the chassis. I believe the very earliest Bachmann Peaks may also have used the old m...

Re: weathering track

Sorry, I beg to differ, only new rail is rust brown. Rust brown colour paint applied to nickel-silver rail tends to dry - pink (yuk). Running rails tend to be chocolate brown colour, varying in shade between light, and dark depending on use, as paint on nickel-silver tends to dry a lighter shade, g...

Re: Decals: make your own on the computer

I've been checking out suppliers. Crafty Computer Paper seem to want GBP 2.99 for postage which obviously makes buying one sheet as a test rather unattractive! I've seen suppliers on Ebay who charge less than GBP 1.00 for postage, so I may try an EBay sheet. Has anyone here tried any of the Ebay su...

Re: Plankwell Sidings – 00 micro layout

I do like these small diorama/micro layouts. I feel that because they're so small the enthusiasm stays at a high level and results in better scenic and artistic presentation. This is certainly well done and presented.Geoff T. I think you've pretty much hit the nail on the head here Geoff. So many o...
