Re: L&Y Tank and N Class DCC.

Thank you all. I have now figured them both out.

It seems I was being way over-cautious. Not that hard at all :)

L&Y Tank and N Class DCC.

It's been a long time! I feel a bit cheeky making the first post on my return an appeal for help, but there it is! :) Finally, we have managed to get a proper start on a layout and I want to chip the above locos. I have a couple of problems: The N class was part of a set and didn't come with an inst...

Re: Starting again.

I'm not to keen on the idea myself! I will try to squeeze a bit more space!

I've changed the plan to use 2nd radius. It will mean shorter trains, but I can live with that :) I also have 4 2nd radius curves sitting here now, so I only need to buy a point!

Starting again.

Unfortunately for me the kids have moved on from model railways, and I have lost my spare room to Warhammer and Wrestling figures! This has forced me to rethink what I am able to build. I have decided that I can use a 4' x 2' board for a small N scale layout. I want it to be simple to put together i...

Re: Hollycroft - N Gauge First Attempt - Beerandpies

I have just made some woodland scenics trees. I'll post a pic or two as a comparison.

Re: Hollycroft - N Gauge First Attempt - Beerandpies

The trees look really good! Talking of DCC I intend to go with the Prodigy Advance eventually. My son's Thomas layout uses a Bachmann EZ-DCC controller and that made me decide DCC is in my future. I have also set myself a rule of only buying DCC ready locos. This was really hard to stick to last wee...

Re: Hattons

I had an order delivered yesterday. I placed it Sunday but got my payment details wrong <oops>

Once I called and gave them the right details it was picked and sent within 2 hours.

Re: 1st N gauge test track

It reminds me a lot of my first experience with N. I bought the peco track starter pack and a farish saddle tank.

Great memories :)

Thanks. Never give up, you will be surprised what you can achieve when you put your mind to it.

I wasn't completely serious :)

I have always liked 009 but never really tried to get into it. The need for so many kits always put me off!

Re: Another one (N)

I use a layer of it on the board and cut it back or build it up for contours. Not the best but cheap at £1.68 a sheet.

The only electrics on this layout will be the 2 wires to the controller. Maybe some lights. I wanted something "simple" I can get on with while the OO is blocked in :)

Re: Another one (N)

I thought simple was a good idea. I'm not really into operation but I do like modelling and collecting.

I have had a Fleischmann set sitting here for a couple of years now unused. I thought I might as well use it :)
