Drop 5v down to 4.5v

Hi I have a dual rail power supply like this: https://goo.gl/images/bNQJ9e I am driving some servos. Using batteries at the moment. I read somewhere that servos are a bit particular on voltage (4.5v). Question is: can I use the 5v output as it is? Or should I drop the voltage to each servo? I don't ...

Re: More eBay nonsense...........

How about this for overpriced?! I probably wouldn't pay £30 let alone £3000. And, buyer to dismantle!!

I'd want the loft and roof trusses too for that price

Dapol JNA to return

Hi everyone I was talking to the guys in Trains 4 U in Peterborough today and asked if they had any Network Rail livery JNA wagons in. They didn't, but he did say they had an email today from dapol saying they are going back in production. Expected to be £25 RRP. Released in six months. This is grea...

Re: Hst vs 225 set compatibility

It will indeed be a full length hst. I also have curves (not sharp) and gradients (maybe medium steep).

No problem for modern stuff.

Would an alternative be something like thisx2:

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

The engine shed is beautiful. A really nice bit of kit. Looks 'right' with the warning flashes on it too

Thanks

Correct blue for GNER hst

Hi everyone I have a mix of Hornby and Lima hst coaches that I have been collecting from eBay. The only problem being; there are two different shades of blue. Which is the correct one? One is very dark and the other is very light. The power cars are the darker shade. I don't mind stripping these all...

Re: Hst vs 225 set compatibility

Hairyhandedfool, I tried to double motor an hst power car but couldn't seem to make it fit in the body. Could have just been that loco (or my ineptitude). Definitely worth a second look

Thanks

Re: Hst vs 225 set compatibility

Great idea mickleover. I never thought of doing it in one of the coaches. Come to think of it, my voyager is powered by one of its coaches.

Do you know how the bogie wheelbases compare with the loco and mk3 coach you mention?

I will also look into the tenshodo motors bufferstop.

Thanks

Re: Hst vs 225 set compatibility

Thanks for the info bigmet. Might be easier to stick with the hst chassis I have then. An 86 from heljan sounds great. I have a heljan 47 and it would pull a house down. You're right about top speed though. Shame really, as I have the space to stretch their legs. I only really thought about a 225 se...

Re: Hst vs 225 set compatibility

Thanks b308

I think I may as well start with a train pack as suggested by Eagle, then stretch (or shorten) a modern hst chassis (of which I have a spare) and then cut and shut bogie frames etc after that.

Thanks

Re: Hst vs 225 set compatibility

Thanks for the reply Eagle. I was really after using the new chassis. It is so powerful. I can pull a full length hst (with capacity to spare, it'd probably pull twice as much) on my layout which has a couple of inclines. The ringfield power cars won't. Not heavy enough or powerful enough. I have ev...

Hst vs 225 set compatibility

Hi I have the new version HST which is brilliant. I have GNER livery and really fancied a 225 set to go in the other direction. My question is: are either of the power cars in a 225 set the same wheel base (and wheel layout) as the class 43 hst? If so I could 'bash' a body to fit a new version HST c...
