Re: MIDVILLE JUNCTION Modern 00

Hi everyone, Not much of an update as I have been mostly wiring and rewiring some sections for block control. I also have some more point motors to fit to complete the yard. One project I have started is a little bit of scenery. We have a couple of old dead trees that have fallen. So I took some of ...

Re: Which power supply for Cobalt Alpha

I have read that. I also included that in my post.

I probably didn’t make it clear. My apologies. I would like a power supply recommending from somewhere like eBay. Maybe a link?

Thanks

Which power supply for Cobalt Alpha

Hi everyone I am looking at getting a DCC booster and like the spec of the Cobalt Alpha. However, getting a straight answer for a power supply is tricky (it doesn’t come with one). So, does anyone know which power supply would be suitable? I need 12-18v 5 amp regulated dc power supply. Can I just ge...

Re: Diesels at Crown Point and Sovereign St.

Some nice shots here. I particularly like the dirty tarpaulins on the wagon loads.

Excellent stuff

Thanks

Re: MIDVILLE JUNCTION Modern 00

Hi everyone Another small update, it helps the layout along though. I have extended the retaining wall from behind the rearmost platform out towards the countryside scene. The box I have created under this is where the hidden return lines are for the Branchline. I have left most of the surface remov...

Re: MIDVILLE JUNCTION Modern 00

Hi Glencairn, Believe it or not, it only took about 3 hours of carpentry. I then Had to lay the track and wire it. Maybe two evenings, tops. I have all the equipment I could need and all the timber on hand. The idea with stacking the spokes up worked well. It saved time, I cut them all up before han...

Re: MIDVILLE JUNCTION Modern 00

Hi PNP Not sure how to work out the percentages etc but the basic idea is this: There is a central leg and the ‘spokes’ are 13mm thick. So the helix rises 102mm per rotation. There are two rotations from the fiddle yard to the top mainline section. The branch line starts on the top section and rotat...

Re: MIDVILLE JUNCTION Modern 00

Well, I’m very sorry to report that I couldn’t get any good pictures. Since I fitted the curved ply facia I cannot get a good angle to take a photo. I have included a link to a Flickr folder with the pictures I did take. If there is anything I can explain further please ask. I’m sorry I couldn’t pro...

Re: MIDVILLE JUNCTION Modern 00

Thanks Gerald, very kind of you to say. The helix isn’t rocket science. It could be easily achieved even with basic tools and skills. If people are interested I’ll post some more pictures of it. It is actually two helix’s stacked. There is a double spiral that takes the mainline down to the fiddle y...

Re: Steam Trains to Sovereign Street on a 1914/1919 theme

I like the idea of the dock with plenty of shunting but doubling as a visual fiddle yard. Brilliant idea. It keeps more stock on display too. My fiddle yard is underneath, so most things are hidden most of the time.

Nice work either way.

Thanks
Dan
