Re: 4Car CEP EMU SR (N gauge)

Hi again, Well I removed the TS and TC car roofs and there is no provision for decoders and on checking the bogies I can see that there are no pickups.. So only two decoders are needed. The rear car decoder is purely for the rear light. I think it's a shame that Bachmann Farish didn't go the extra m...

Re: Bachmann 36-558A decoder

Hi All, Many thanks for your replies. I took the decoder out and checked DC running, all OK. So fitted it back in and used my separate program track, set the address and hey-presto it works. Many thanks again. Rob.

Re: 4Car CEP EMU SR (N gauge)

Hi, Thanks for your reply. At the moment I've just got the one decoder in the power car. Running well with headcode number lit. I'm going to take the roofs off the other cars just to see what's in them. Will get other decoders at some point when the pension can afford it :D . Thanks again Rob.

Re: 4Car CEP EMU SR(N Gauge)

Hi, Many thanks to you all for your replies. I'm pretty certain that I have placed all cars in correct order now. Unlike the 00 version the N gauge set doesn't have power links between the cars, so that's why you have to have so many decoders if you want the lights to work etc. So I don't think it m...

Bachmann 36-558A decoder

Hi, Having problems giving this decoder an address ( Correctly fitted with No1 pin inline ). I have always used Digitrax in the past and this is the first time I've used a 36-558A Bachmann. I'm using a MRC Prodigy Express and I just use a program track to set the address and no more. Does the Bachma...

4Car CEP EMU SR (N gauge)

Hi All, I've placed this article on the N gauge forum as well as I was unsure which one would suit best. At long last I've got a Farish SR 4 Car CEP and will at some point place decoders in all carriages. I will only be putting one in the power car for the moment, as I believe that 4 decoders are ac...

Re: 4Car CEP EMU SR(N Gauge)

Hi All, At long last I've got a Farish SR 4 Car CEP and will at some point place decoders in all carriages. I will only be putting one in the power car for the moment, as I believe that 4 decoders are actually required! I have a couple of questions. 1) Is it best to have the same make of decoder in ...

Re: Lias Decoders

Hi< Thanks for your reply. The cheapest I can see on Hattons for a (6pin plug in) is £15.26+ postage. I don't want to hard wire, so it must be a "plug in" type. Regards Rob.

Lias Decoders

Hi All, Have seen these Lais decoders on Ebay (£10.95 inc postage)and for the price, seem too good to be true :) . Has anyone used these? I've at long last got the Farish 4car CEP and as it requires three decoders, I was thinking of giving these a try if they will actually fit. They seem to come with...

Dapol (N gauge) Bullied Pacific and Schools

Hi All, I've already put this question on the Dapol forum but I thought I'd place it here as well. I know I've asked about the Schools before, but does anyone know if Dapol are still intending to launch the Schools this year? Has anyone heard if the Bullied Pacific's are near a launch date. I believ...

Dapol (N gauge) Bullied Pacific and Schools

Well I know I've asked before about the Schools, but does anyone know if Dapol are still intending to launch the Schools this year? Has anyone heard if the Bullied Pacific's are near a launch date. I believe that both these were announced by Dapol back in 2012/13 and apart from Cad/Cam views there's...

Re: Hornby Brighton Belle Released

Hi, Glad you agree about the 2BIL etc. The Brighton Belle looks fantastic but the railway wallet won't stretch that far. :( Would still like to get the Class 411 4 CEP from Farish. You never know Christmas is coming. or I might just have to wait for the Schools. Birthday in May so you never kn...

Re: Hornby Brighton Belle Released

I wonder what the chances are for Hornby Arnold to produce Class 411 4 car CEP ,like Bachmann Farish or even a 2 car BIL or a 2 Car HAL. That might shake Bachmann Farish up a bit and Dapol for that matter. Still waiting for the Schools. Just a thought. :D
