Re: Downton Valley Railway

Hey Kenny,

Did you spray or hand paint 1401?
And would I be right in saying it's Semi-gloss?

Cheers

Re: Help needed: Confuddlin Yard

2874 is the only preserved example that is likely to be steamed out side of the NRM that has straight frames and inside steam pipes. I Asked a member of the owning group for here and he is almost 100% sure that she carried BR black with early crest. Hope that's of some help Chris Cheers Chris, just...

Re: Help needed: Confuddlin Yard

2818 is still straight framed.... I did think about that, but can't explain this: http://www.warwickshirerailways.com/gwr/stratfordgwr/gwrsa1552.jpg (late 1950s) But then again, this is sort of okay!: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Newport_High_Street_station_geograph-2516537-by-Ben-Brooksb...

Re: Help needed: Confuddlin Yard

For example this GWR 22xx 2-8-0 2857 can be seen in BR black. http://www.2857.org.uk/2857_4-service.html It was repainted c2002 to its original GWR livery. Hey Steve, Thanks for that, that's the class I'm after, I am specifically after the straight framed version (without the curve down in the fram...

Re: Help needed: Confuddlin Yard

Hi all, Spent this evening fixing up and detailing my straight-framed 28xx (new hornby tooling), I've already painted the smoke-box matt black. DSCF0269 (800x597).jpg I'm looking to repaint it into BR Early Crest Black, and was wondering if anyone knows of any straight framed 28xx's that made it int...

Re: Confuddlin Yard progress pics

HURRAY IT WORKS :D After a major panic thanks to a broken choc block, now fixed, I've fully tested the layout, and thankfully, it all works, including my isolating section! :) DSCF0201 (800x597).jpg and just to sort of prove it works: DSCF0202 (800x597).jpg DSCF0203 (800x597).jpg DSCF0204 (800x597)....

Re: Confuddlin Yard

Hey Chris Well this is my second term, first term I just had a piece of track and the odd loco to detail. This term I thought I'd bring a small board for a layout, it's only 3 foot by 1 foot, so fits quite nicely under my bed, all the stock and bits for it live in a box in my wardrobe. Might be an i...

Small update: Finally got the board together, Drilled holes for wire droppers, cut foam underlay and attached, Painted rust onto all the rail sides, then positioned track. DSCF0191 (800x597).jpg Here's how it looks at the moment, hopefully will have a loco movement around it before the night is out ...

Help needed: Confuddlin Yard

Hello All, Now I've started University, my railway modelling has dwindled quite spectacularly. To combat this I've started to create a small 3' by 1' layout which will allow me to continue modelling whilst away at home. I enclose a photo of the track plan (albeit on the board destined for my 'home' ...
