The GW developed their own types of lever frame, because , it is said , they didnt like paying royalties on the patents held by other railway companies....Note that the point operating rods were round , solid wrought iron bar about 2inches diameter , later it was replaced by 'upside down' , 'U' chan...

Where else did the signalman keep his bike? I went down Severn Valley Kidderminster this afternoon and had a good trawl through 3 types of locking frame , one of which was from the Bristol area , and called a double twist type , pulled a few levers in the nearing completion Wrangaton signal box, and...

If its close enough , go to Severn Valley Kidderminster station and adjacent is a recently rebuilt , operational but not connected to the railway, signal box, adjacent to the museum/ cafe, I'm sure they guys there will invite you around.

Contact your local preserved railway and you will find they are usually very helpful to arrange a visit to one of their real , modelling size, signal boxes. and as many photos as you can take...

'Ringing can be just using a x1 probe across the track ( or the power supply panel)

Any DCC controller does not output any voltage that can be reliably measured without special RMS voltmeters. Unless you have one , then the voltages mentioned mean nothing - except there is 'something' there . DCC is Not DC..... Only thing I would do is swop the walmart type power suppy that probabl...

Ian Allen shops are now closing as well. Unable to find a buyer upon retirement as I understand it. There is only one Ian Allan shop( Birmingham) and a head office- which serves multiple company uses.
