Re: Matching Factory Finish

Was there not a match in Hornbys Humbrol Rail Colour range, I know their GWR/BR loco green is a good match for the BR green that Bachmann and Graham Farish use, never owned anything in Hornby BR green do can't comment on if it matches their own green.

One for the Arduino Experts

Hi all For those of you that know about these things, (Arduino & DCC) would it be possible to do the following Take an Arduino with LCD display shield and probably motor control shield that is connected to a short section of track so that when a loco is placed on the track and a button connected...

Re: 66 TTS speaker upgrade

Don't have any actual recomendatios but pick the largest that will actually fit and make sure it has a sealed sound box, unlike the TTS supplied speaker and most important of all, make sure it's an 8ohm speaker, anything less will kill the amplifier in the decoder. Roads and rails to quite a few tha...

Re: Perfect on DC but not DCC

Have you tried a quality decoder ie Zimo or Lenz or are you just swapping Hattons for Hattons decoders, Hattons decoders are not the best and can give quite erratic running. Also in addition to what's been said above also turn off running on DC via CV29 some play up when that's turned on. Mind you w...

Re: Airbrush kits

Hi My reply will be quite different to many who will recommend getting something from the hi end like an Iwata, although even I would recommend their Revolution range. I would say get one of the kits that include compressor and often a couple of cheap airbrushes , often one gravity fed and one Sypho...

Hi

I get all mine from Youchoos both sound and motor only, but there are others.

I always get excellent service from John.

Re: dcc Run aways

When all else fails, change the decoder, try a known good make decoder, something from Zimo or Lenz, lesser decoders are often fine but sometimes only a known good one will do the trick, I have had the odd issue with decoders from the likes of Gaugemaster, Dapol, LaiseDCC but never a problem with Zi...

Re: Dapol magnetic couplings

Will they be selling them as a separate item or are they just sticking two finger up to their customers.

As a user of their couplers I am unimpressed by that decision

They are all removed on mine

Re: TTS DECODER ,,BIT OF A SURVEY

Hi I have 4 at the moment, all diesels though, class's 31, 37, 47, 67, all run fine on Gaugemaster's Express, Advance and Advance2, Lenz, Sprog3 using JMRI, also the MERG system except the 31 which is an old one that has the only working one way issue with the MERG controller. Not had to change anyt...

Re: Ballast Magic

Its often reported that when using the usual PVA/Water mix with granite chips they they take on a green hue when dry, I have always suspected that that might be down to the common practice of adding washing up liquid to help break the surface tension and possible through the use of green washing up ...

The best Matt I ever used was the Enamel one by Xtracolor and used in an airbrush, don't know if its still available or been replaced by their acrylic version and don't know if the acrylic version is as good as the enamel version, still got 3 bottle of the enamel left which will do me for quite a fe...

Re: 5volt to 12volt converter

You could always buy the 9v version of your lead or even just try connecting the controller to the 5v output directly just to see if they run with a realistic speed on 5v
