Re: Henley-on-Thames - OO Gauge GWR

So it's been 18 months, so it's probably about time I give a small update on here. Plenty has happened (perhaps not 18 months worth  ) I've built platforms, hills are in the process of being made, and fields are being...seeded? I'm pretty happy with how things are coming, although a lot is stil...

Bachmann GWR 4331

Evening all, I have a Bachmann model of 4300 class ‘4331’ in lined Great Western Green, and from my research I can’t find any photos of any 4300’s in such a livery, whilst it does seems reasonably probable that some might have been outshopped lined towards the beginning of their life. Does anyone ha...

Re: Loco head lamps

Hmmm might have found a gap in the market... time to dust off my CAD skills!

Loco head lamps

Morning all,

Are there any options for a bulk pack of loco head lamps out there at all? I’m looking to start putting head lamps on most of my engines and I don’t really fancy having to get lots and lots of small packs. Is there anyone out there that has 3D printed large batches?

Cheers

Different brake handles

Evening all, I’ve been looking into Siphon G’s and upgrading them, just a quick question for something I’ve just come up against (quite a small pedantic thing). The brake handles - I’ve noticed 2 types the perhaps more standard long version, and a much shorter type with a circle behind the handle (s...

Rail noise

Morning all, I was running a TTS model yesterday with a large rake of metal wheeled coaches yesterday on our clubs exhibition layout. Seeing as it was an express train naturally it needed some pace, but once it got really going the sound of the engine was completely drowned out by the rail noise fro...

GWR Stop Board

Evening all,

I’m on the hunt for a GWR Illuminated stop board for a OO Gauge layout, and have had no luck in identifying a supplier of any of these, anyone know of anyone that makes them? (Functional or not)

Cheers

GWR Tool Hooks

I’m looking to install some tool hooks (such as those found on 1400’s and Pannier Tanks) but looking down my usual avenues (247, Alan Gibson, Brassmasters) I’ve been unable to find any. Does anyone know where I could get some? (Ideally brass ones) Cheers Ben https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co...

Hornby X8011

Does anybody know of where I can electrical terminal pins similar to the stupidly overpriced Hornby x8011? (The pins used to plug into their point switches). It's just that I refuse to pay £10 for a pack of 50 components which can't cost more than a penny each to make.

Cheers

Re: Henley-on-Thames - OO Gauge GWR

Evening, I have been quiet, but the progress I've been making isn't much to show off (and it's been a little slow!) but here's an update all the same. Firstly, (and mainly) all the underboard wiring - asides from lighting - is practically complete. Just one more point motor to go in, but that isn't ...

Henley-on-Thames - OO Gauge GWR

So it's about time that I started posting this venture of mine - I've been working away on it since Christmas (progress has been slow because of lack of funds, and working for the fund which currently elude me). It's quite an interesting line especially for me as it's a local line and one that I fre...

Smoke Generator

Evening all, I'm beginning to plan the electronics of a new endeavour and I'm looking to use a Seuthe 117 generator. And what I was wondering is; I plan to use a 12v power supply for all accessories and was wondering if that would be enough for it? (The smoke generator states 16-18v). Also, what cur...

Underlay!

Morning all, I'm just about to start making a layout again (touchwood) and am looking at different techniques I may wish to prescribe to, and the one I've come up against now is the idea of underlay. (Ie cork/foam/rubber). I don't really fancy it, as it seems like extra hassle. But that got me wonde...

Re: York model railway

Last time I went past the station it looked like the building it used to be in had converted to a cafe or coffee shop or something (I can't exactly remember what) but it didn't look very model railway-esk. So unless it's moved I'd guess it's closed.
