With regard to my next project that Andy asked about. Well for the first time ever I wont be modelling anything to do with Barchester. Next time it will be a little bit of self indulgence in that I am going to make a small diorama of a model I have seen on the internet and which I greatly admire. Al...

Well here they are folks, for better or for worse. Four of the five mechanical horses in action on Barchester. Just a couple of things to do to finish them off. The first thing is to make and fit better headlights and the second to buy some drivers and get them installed. At the moment the drivers a...

I'd be very grateful for that Rhys as I hardly ever see the prototype of anything. Thanks.

Well here's the trailer with legs, at the second go I might add. The first support posts were where they are now but held only by a security clamp so that when the clamp was released the leg fell to the floor and then the clamp was tightened to hold it in place. Simple but effective. Fine until the ...

Your comments are more than generous and I thank you all.
I am working on the trailers now to 'really' finish them off, unless I see another problem. Get them out of the way and then the last touches to the prime movers.

It's not skill Les, it's the thought that goes into the job before you start. If you follow the thread you can see that it's just bits of card, measured and cut then stuck together. If I gave you the same bits you would come up with the same results, like a kit. So that tells us that it's the bits t...

Here's a picture of three of the trailers finished. The upper woodwork has been stained, chassis painted, mudguards fitted, brake rods and rear lights fitted. The buttons worked out fairly well for the wheels I thought. Since taking this picture I realise that I have to add support legs for the fron...

There's nothing clever or skillful about it Tim. About 95% of everything I do has been done by someone before, although I think the buttons and press studs are pretty new, and I discovered long ago that if I measured and cut carefully then that was the only 'skill' I needed, apart from a bit of imag...

Did a quicky on a container type box just to see what the vehicle would look like with a load on it and this was the result. The 'container' is bigger than the normal load that this type of vehicle would carry but this is just for a 'look see'. Actually it's a good picture for seeing the wheels (but...

Thank you very much everybody. Unfortunately I am quite likely to spoil everything when it comes to the paint job as I am the worlds worst. Remains to be seen.

Yes they have taken longer Andrew and at 70 odd years old I am finding that the models take longer each year. Ah well, at least I can still manage them so that's something.

Thanks fellas. Must admit I am rather pleased myself with the way they are turning out, especially considering how small they are and the condition of my hands and eyes.
