Model Railway Scenery Review -
Platform Footbridge
Hornby Skaledale Platform Footbridge - R8641
Rating 1/10

Review:
What a load of rubbish! and that is a understatement.
Where to begin?
Firstly,
the whole platform footbridge is poorly constructed. The steps
are not straight they are bent. Blotchy paint work which is
cracked in several places, and has either been missed in some
areas or the undercoat has shown through.

Secondly, the barriers have not formed correctly in places and
above the steps the barrier doesn't even reach over the edge!
It's clearly not in the right place which doesn't help the look
of this scenery piece. You can clearly see the joins in the
barriers are poor, not level at all, and looks in places joined
by far too much glue!
Then we
come to the legs the platform footbridge stands upright on, they
are twisted and bent at one end and at an angle the other end,
how it managed to stand up on it's own is a miracle.
The
painting looks bodged across the fences above the legs which
adds to the nightmare of this scenery piece.

The
detailing can be clearly seen as stickers.
If you
dare to look underneath this scenery piece you will not be
surprised to find more shoddy workmanship, as you will see the
bodged formation.
This
particular platform footbridge doesn't appear to have survived
transport and others may not be as rubbish as the one being
reviewed, but ask yourself one very simple question:
"why buy
this platform footbridge when Hornby produce a much cheaper and
better looking
plastic bridge
R076?".
