Model Railway Scenery Review - Aswell House
Hornby Skaledale Aswell House – R8561
Rating 6/10

Review:
When looking at the box which the Aswell House comes in,
you are not too sure what to expect when you actually open the box and pull out
your house. The detailing on the box shows finely detailed brickwork, but is
this what you actually get on the house itself? The answer is Yes!
The Aswell House looks
fabulous. The brickwork looks realistic, and greatly coloured to resemble an
actual house. The door and windows even have some fine detailing. Hornby have
spared no expense on this model, both front and back of the house have been
finely detailed. The roof has realistic tiles, guttering on both sides, even
fine pipe work which resembles those you would find on the back of your own
house from the kitchen and bathroom. They have even put a doorstep at the front
and back door, and put decorative detailing around the windows. The chimney
looks great and doesn’t look out of place.
There is even a whole in
the bottom of the model for you to have a light put inside when on your model
railway, so that at night the home can light up.
I am slightly
disappointed with the windows on this model as they look and
feel plastic and when you look inside you can see the paint
splatters from when the model was painted, but that’s the only
disappoint you shall find with this model.
