Have any questions or tips and advice on how to build those bits that don't come ready made.

I thank you.
"Rope is thicker, but string is quicker." Spike Milligan.

Hence my fascination with Mr Rowland Emett. He did actually turn drawings into "things", as he called them.
I have been known to follow him, at a respectful distance.

End of month has arrived, so ready-or-not, this is what I have.

One custom loco chassis, ex- Lima 0-4-0 steam outline. Loco around £15 for nice bad example, nowadays.
Three loco bodies to fit such. All from scrap box, say £12 total, once upon a time.
Radio control equipment and battery holder. £6.
Small low-voltage geared motor: £5.

Naked:

As shortened Hornby Holden.

As shortened (and elderly) Hornby "Nellie" class, Ant, Number 3.

As Hopewho knows what its parents were".
The dock shunter "Patch" for sizer comparison.

I will try for better photos later today, if energy allows.

Your diminutive locos are a source of inspiration. I've a Caledonian single wheeler that I'm am aching to take a scalpel to too :o

An 0-2-2 would be pretty early.
2-2-2's were around for a long time, though. "Jenny Lind" was the name...

A Triang 4-2-2 cut down and rendered as an Emett loco.
Back in the day battered Caledonian Singles and Lords of the Isles could be had at toy fairs for very little.
No, I've hardly ever cut ud a good, pristine loco, but I can't say never.

I think a 4-2-2 would be too large a driving wheel for a Jenny Lind conversion. There's a Pearson 4-2-4T that I think might be a nice conversion from a Caledonian, at least you'd get to see the driving wheel.
