Silver Oak Valley Railway

Post by kennyGWSR »

Well, i have no internet for 2 days and look what happens!
Thanks to Geoff (Dad-1) accidently deleting my whole thread instead of just an arguement (which i was obvious to) i have had to start a new thread, but i do not mind, as it means its a fresh start for me as the last one kept getting changed from Bodmin to the GWSR to this!
Well, i will be writing the layout info stuff later as i am limited on time at the moment. But i can say this, a fresh layout thread has to come with a fresh new resident on the line, in the shape of CLASS 50 50007 Sir Edward Elgar (Ian would be proud   )
Anyway, more news later :)
Kenny

Bad luck Kenny must seem like you can't win. Think there's a mod who owes you now. Hope your pictures were all on Photobucket or similar.

Nice one :D you finaly succumed to the Hornby Model, no prizes for guessing which one i would have chosen
So is it the rare one in preseved guise with the red backed nameplates? or the LE weathered one? or maybe a complete respray?
No 7 or snotvac as some dubbed it was not the best, but certainly not the worst either.Have to admit had some corking runs on the mule in 89.
Glad you got your favourite one.
Can't wait for the pics.

It was the normal edition Ian.
I will be loading photos of her on thursday hopefully, along with a trip along the (very short) line with GWR prairie tank 5526 and autocoach.

Sorry about the lack of photos, my camera lens got stuck, and has only just freed itself so photos will be landing here this week (hopefully)

Hi Kenny. That Sentinel looks a little corker ! I've heard that they are remarkably good runners, lets hope they pave the way for more RTR 0-4-0s !

Also the A4 line-up is very impressive! 8)

Hi Kenny, I trust your Sentinel is as good as mine. I'm truly impressed with it. It will happily crawl across points despite its minute wheelbase, here's hoping that Hornby take note of what an 0-4-0 can do.

Hi Kenny,

Good to see pictures again !!

That Sentinel looks interesting - be an ideal yard shunter.
Keep us posted on how it runs, Bufferstop seems to think
it's a great little runner.
I may be tempted.

Hi guys, thanks for the kind words!
DrStroganoff: i agree about the 0-4-0s, think its about time we had a LSWR B4 and NER Y8 to cover for the lack of them.
Bufferstop: I love it, such a smooth runner, and looks great on a rake of GWR wagons :D certainly an improvement from the current small tank engines.
Mike: Thanks, im going for another three preserved ones, plus maybe an Apple green one.
Dad-1: Yes, it has made my class 08s, 04s and 14 redundant now!!
Its an excellent runner, and dapol have captured the lines of this beauty very well.
Thanks
Kenny.

'Oh look Parker, Pink is the new Black' < Lady P in the Thunderbirds movie, or in my case, Black is the new Pink!! The latest arrival is LMS Coronation 6233 Duchess of Sutherland, she has arrived back from overhaul at Crewe, now wearing the very sexy Lined Black! In reality, i sold my last 6233 (which was in Crimson Lake) to fellow fourm member Phipps, and now i have bought the black one which was due to replace her! Its a beauty and will look superb lined up with 4498 Sir Nigel Gresley and 70000 Britannia, both in Black. Also, a new china clay wagon arrived today, taking my fleet up to 6 (i think!) ready for my Beattie Well Tank pair which are due in september.
