Looking nice mate - particularly like your open-baseboard construction. Neat job.

BTW - your avatar - you're not the guy that recently fell asleep on the tracks at Epsom are you?

Cheers for the kind comments guys, just got a bit more rail painting to do and some electrics and then I can move onto scenery :).

It's not that geezer, no :P. It's Mark "Rent Boy" Renton from the film Trainspotting.

I have made a little socket board where I can plug in my controllers and later a power supply for things such as signals and lights. I used a piece of white acrylic and bought some plugs and some sockets from a local electrical store, I drilled holes and puts the sockets in the acrylic and have put the plugs onto the ends of the wires from the controllers. Here's how it turned out;

Image

I put the plan on by simple printing the diagramatic map onto some paper and pritsticking it to the acrylic. I also have some switches on the board to determine whether I shall be using two controllers or just the one and to reverse the polarity of the balloon loop.

Morerecently I have been putting on facia boards on the rest of the layout, tunnel mouths and some chicken wire for the valley sides. To attach the chicken wire to the formers I have simply used drawing pins, took almost no time at all... but then I ran out of chicken wire :(.

this is a birds eye view or a standing up view of the town area, I have put some wood down to support the platforms, I have put it quite far away from the track edge as I want to put detail into the edging of the platforms. There shall be a bridge on the platforms as where the passengers on wheelchairs would cross isn't going to be modelled.

On the opposite side of the rive to the station I am going to have some sidings to do some shunting :).

Image

Also I have made a pixel drawing of what I hope the layout to look like once it is finished, as I did with my other layout that never got finished.

Danny,

I must say this is turning in to a nice layout - I look forward to seeing it once you have some scenery done.
