Surely Hattons would have to cover the return postage price for a replacement.GWR_fan wrote:My Tyseley train pack was not quite the bargain that I had hoped for. On arrival one tender buffer assembly was missing. While a small part, the purchase and postage of the part will not be an insignificant cost.

I used the Grange Rods on my hall and they were a perfect fit.

Re: Which model is correct?
The latest release is far more accurate to Goathland station. The main building correctly sits behind the platform and has the rear entry ramp and steps and the auxiliary buildings on either side of the main building are far more accurate to the station as she is today.

Re: Which model is correct?
Sorry Bufferstop but I have to firmly disagree with you there. The original building (larger one) was vastly overs ale for what is actually at the station. Many images online show that the shelter is taller than the waiting room, whereas the original Hornby buildings were incorrectly the other way r...

Re: Which model is correct?
R9746 is the more correct sizing. They re-released the Goathland buildings a few years ago, all in the R97xx series and these are the more correct buildings to represent Goathland. The older ones in the R86xx series are quite different and incorrect in some details. However that original footbridge ...

That's a big chunk of the TTS models. I wonder if they had trouble getting rights to record the sounds for some of them.

Nicely scored. There is another set of 5 due out this year, but you may be right. This may be all for a year or 2.

Re: Hornby Class 43 Traction issues
In the long term, it would be highly beneficial to save up and get the newer Hornby units. Far superior to the older one and mine can pull a full 9+2 rake up inclines and on curves without any hesitation. Well worth the £200 I paid.

I will be putting mine Into a single track sealed display box. The scale equivalent of stuffed and plinthed. The proper place for a King is the GW mainline with thirteen on, chucking out steam in square blocks the size of haystacks. :o That's what my DJM/ Hattons/ Steam museum special will be doing...

Locomotion King George V
What has everyone done with their KG V models? Are you running then? Displaying them? Left in boxes? Just interested to see what everyone else has done. I will be putting mine Into a single track sealed display box.

They do now all have the NEM pocket. I bought a few that had the Tension Lock couplers screwed onto the bogie. These are the older ones that have the hideously oversized panel lines of course.

Calling Hornby direct would be the easiest and quickest option. I say call as it recently took them over a month to reply to an email query I sent.

Re: Review Gadwall TTS and Flying Scotsman TTS
or AU$700 for a Railroad Tornado with different (printed) nameplates, no glazing (and nobody seems to make it), plastic buffers and moulded handrails ( but decent motor and flywheel) and a Class 47 that came straight from the 90s and won't pull anything without fishing weights added. Yes I do mean ...
